How do Prescription Drug Savings cards work? The RxSavercard contains special computerized instructions that are entered into the pharmacy’s computer, just like using an ATM card. When the card information is entered, the price on the prescription is adjusted based on the pharmacies contractual agreement with the PBM. This allows consumers to save money without encountering any delays or paperwork at checkout.
How soon can I use the card to start saving money? Immediately. As soon as your card is printed you are able to use it at any of the participating pharmacies.
Are all of my family members covered? Yes. Your card will cover all your family members living with you. If some use different last names, download another free card using their name to avoid confusion.
What prescription medications are covered under this plan? This program covers any and all FDA approved brand and generic prescription medicines
Are pre-existing conditions covered? Yes.
Do I need to present my card each time I buy a prescription? No. Show your card the first time with the pharmacist you use. They will record the number and keep it on file for you. If you shop at several pharmacies, show your card the first time you make a purchase at each place so they can record your number.
What kinds of savings are available? This will depend on the pharmacy you use and the medicines you are purchasing. On average using this card will save you 25% compared to retail purchases without the card. With the discount, you will receive a lower price for the medicine available from that pharmacy.
I am not a US citizen can I still use the card? Yes. Any person living in the United States regardless of citizenship or legality may use the card to save money.
Are there any hidden costs to me? No. It costs you nothing to enroll and there are no fees regardless of the number of times you use the card.
I have medical insurance with some drug coverage can I still benefit from using the card? Yes. The RxSavercard can be used to save money on prescription dugs that are excluded by your insurance plan or are not covered if you have exceeded your plan’s maximum limits. In many cases you may find that the RxSavercard’s prices are lower than the co-payment amount of your plan. Ask your pharmacist to compare the benefits so that you can pay the lowest cost.
Can I use this at my neighborhood pharmacy? On average across America the card is accepted at 90% of the pharmacies in any given community.
Are there any age or enrollment restrictions? No. Any person living in the United States can enroll and benefit from the program
